Refund Policy

At Bug-Out Bikes, we want you to have the best possible experience exploring Utah's incredible outdoors. We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be fair and transparent with our refund policy for off-road personal recreation vehicle rentals.

• Full Refund (Standard Cancellation): A full refund will be issued if your booking cancellation is completed 24 hours or more prior to your scheduled appointment time.

• No Refund (Late Cancellations, No-Shows, Early Returns):

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment time will not be eligible for a refund.

  • No-shows (failure to arrive for your scheduled rental) will result in forfeiture of the full rental amount.

  • No pro-rated refunds are given for early returns of the vehicle.

• Weather Related Cancellations: In the event of severe weather conditions (as determined by Bug-Out Bikes staff) that make it unsafe to operate the vehicles, Bug-Out Bikes reserves the right to cancel bookings. In such cases, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule your rental. Please note: Cancellations due to minor weather conditions (e.g., light rain, overcast skies) where operations are still deemed safe will adhere to the standard cancellation policy.

• Vehicle Malfunction: While we meticulously maintain our fleet, unforeseen mechanical issues can occur. If a vehicle malfunctions during your rental due to no fault of your own, please contact us immediately. We will assess the situation and, at our discretion, may offer a partial refund or credit for a future rental based on the unused portion of your booking.

• Late Returns: Rentals returned later than the agreed-upon return time will be subject to a late fee of $15 per hour, or a full day's rental fee for every 5 or more hours late. This is essential to ensure vehicles are available for subsequent bookings.

• Damage and Cleaning Fees:

  • Renters are responsible for any damage to the vehicle occurring during the rental period. Our standard Rental Agreement and your Security Deposit cover the cost of repairs. If damage exceeds the security deposit, additional charges will apply.

  • Vehicles returned in an excessively dirty condition (beyond normal trail dust/mud) may be subject to a cleaning fee of $40-$135 depending on severity.

• Violation of Rental Agreement/Misuse: Any violation of the terms outlined in our Rental Agreement (e.g., operating outside designated areas, reckless driving, operating under the influence, unauthorized passengers) may result in immediate termination of the rental without a refund and may incur additional charges for damages or recovery.

• Failure to Meet Requirements: If a renter or any operator fails to meet the specified age, licensing, safety training, or other operational requirements at the time of pickup, the rental may be denied without a refund.

• Vehicle Recovery/Stuck Vehicle: In the event a vehicle becomes stuck or incapacitated due to renter negligence, misuse, or failure to follow safety guidelines, the renter will be responsible for all costs associated with vehicle recovery and any resulting damages.
